Free Workshop on Proper Installation and Maintenance of Canopy Trees and Palms June 9 at PBC Cooperative Extension

Urban trees provide beauty, shade, energy savings, habitat for wildlife, and help increase property value. In an urban environment, trees grow differently than in the forest and must be planted and cared for properly. This is important for maintaining the tree’s value, function, and longevity in the landscape.

To help residents learn how to properly plant and maintain urban trees, the Palm Beach County Cooperative Extension Service is offering a free workshop on Saturday, June 9.

Attendees will learn about planting, mulching and fertilizing trees and palms in the landscape, and how to keep them healthy and beautiful. Lecture and discussion will be followed by outdoor activity (weather permitting). This is the second in a series of eight tree-care workshops scheduled this year by the Cooperative Extension Service.
