Palm Beach County’s Cable Channel 20, a division of Public Affairs, took home four bronze awards in the 27th annual Telly Awards, a prestigious international TV and film production competition.

Channel 20 was recognized in the TV documentary category for “PBC Production Review,” an annual program with the PBC Film and TV Commission highlighting the year’s major professional productions in the county. The station ID “There Is A Place” received two bronze awards in the categories of media promotions and use of graphics. And the hurricane preparedness PSA “Dooms Day” received a bronze award in the commercial category.

The Telly Awards were founded in 1978 by David E. Carter, a previous Emmy and Clio Award winner. He created the Tellys to honor excellence in local, regional and cable TV programs and spots, as well as full-length video and film productions. The Telly has since become one of the most sought-after awards in the TV and film industry.

A record 13,379 entries were received from all 50 states and nations representing five continents, making the 2006 Telly Awards the most diverse and competitive ever.
