County Announces Attainable Housing Outreach Campaign

County Commission Chairman Tony Masilotti and County staff will hold a news conference on Tuesday July 11, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. outside the County Commission Chambers, 6th floor of the Palm Beach County Governmental Center, 301 N. Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach.

The purpose is to explain details of the County’s new comprehensive program to increase the number of attainable (workforce) housing units throughout Palm Beach County.

Among other things, the plan requires builders of new developments to provide a certain number of new homes at below market prices for lower-income buyers. The provisions of the program are expected to become mandatory, once County Commissioners approve amendments to the comp plan and Unified Land Development Code.
