Commissioner Warren Newell provided $100,000 from the County's Recreation Assistance Program funds to build a new park in the Village of Palm Springs. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for Thursday, July 27, 2006 at 6:30 p.m.

The Summer Street Park is located north of 10 th Avenue North just east of Congress Avenue on Summer Street.

The neighborhood park area includes nearly two acres and amenities include a multi-purpose field, a children's playground set, new parking areas, sidewalks, picnic tables, benches and a water fountain.

Mayor John M. Davis expressed his appreciation for Commissioner Newell's continued support and noted that the new park will help ease the use of the Village's other playing fields. Additionally, the Village augmented Commissioner Newel's funding with approximately $50,000.
