“Keeping Our Streets Safe”

“Keeping Our Streets Safe” was the topic of Commissioner Santamaria’s July Community Forum at the original Wellington Mall. About 100 people attended the gathering, which brought together law enforcement and criminal justice officials.

Sheriff Ric Bradshaw spoke about proposed budget cuts his department is facing and important crime-fighting programs he wants to keep.

Lt. Mike Wallace, who heads the Sheriff’s youth/gang violence prevention effort, provided statistics, trends and case studies related to gang violence.

Assistant State Attorney Michelle Santamaria addressed the need for citizens to be involved in the criminal justice system.
