Board of County Commissioners to Host Budget Workshop on Monday, July 14

The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners has scheduled a workshop on July 14, beginning at 9:30 a.m. to discuss the proposed 2009 budget.

The workshop will be held in the Jane M. Thompson Memorial Chambers, which is on the sixth floor of the County Governmental Center, 301 N. Olive Avenue in West Palm Beach. If anyone wishes to speak at the workshop, comment cards will be accepted up until 2 p.m. Public comments will begin at 2 p.m., time certain.

All budget documentation the commissioners are using to make their decisions is available for review at www.pbcgov.com. Just click on the “FY-2009 Budget” tab. There you will find the workshop package, which includes an overview of the proposed 2009 budget, line item expenditures and revenues by fund names, and previous years’ budgets.

The workshop will be carried live on PBC-TV Channel 20 and streamed live at www.pbcgov.com. In September, two public hearings will be held for preliminary and final adoption of the 2009 budget.
