Commissioner Bob Kanjian recently attended the 8th annual picnic of “Stand Down House” to show his continuing support for this non-profit agency that has been providing health care services for homeless veterans since May 2000.  Since its inception, the Stand Down House has reintegrated more than 1,200 homeless veterans back into the community.

To all veterans, the term “Stand Down” has a deep and special significance as it refers to a combat unit being relieved of duty from the front line because that unit has served honorably and courageously in battle and it now deserves time for rest and recuperation.  The term ”Stand Down” is symbolic of the support the Stand Down House provides to our country’s veterans.
