The Palm Beach County Division of Mosquito Control will be doing aerial spraying beginning at sundown Friday evening, July 10, weather permitting.
The planned coverage area will target populated areas west of Military Trail and south of Lake Worth Road to the southern Palm Beach County line, as well as the Lake Region communities of Belle Glade, South Bay, Pahokee and Canal Point. The aircraft used is a Huey helicopter.
Aerial spraying is necessary to control the mosquito population that has increased during recent rains. To further help control the insects, residents are asked to drain or minimize standing water on their properties. If you are going be outdoors after dark, be sure to use an insect repellent containing DEET and wear long pants and a long-sleeve shirt.
