Palm Beach County’s Public Affairs Department took top honors
in the Red Baron Media Awards presentations at the 2006 Florida Festivals and Events Association’s (FFEA) annual convention, held this month in Bonita Springs, Florida.
The County is one of 350 members of FFEA, which includes organizations such as Walt Disney World, Gasparilla, Florida State Fair and numerous tourist development councils. Honors are highly coveted by everyone involved in the festival and event industry.

Each year Public Affairs coordinates “Palm Beach County Days,” a three-day event in March in Tallahassee that attracts more than 300 sponsors and guests. For all their efforts with this massive endeavor, the department received the highest award in the Overall Promotional Campaign category.
The award recognizes event planning strategy, design and printing of promotional materials, overall impression and originality. Additional awards were presented for the Palm Beach County Days beads as a promotional item, and for the newsletter, “Palm Beach County Days Update,” which keeps attendees and sponsors informed of the event throughout the year.
