One of the oldest government buildings in the county has a snappy
new look thanks to the County’s Art in Public Places program and the
team of artists who worked on beautifying the West County Courthouse
in Belle Glade.

The public is invited to attend the art’s unveiling and ribbon
cutting on Saturday, August 19, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at the
courthouse. A short ceremony will be followed with music by the
Pahokee Middle-Senior High School Band and refreshments.
Artist Shanon Materio of Lake Worth will be on hand to talk about
the artistic enhancements made to the building, including colorful
glass mosaic columns depicting wildlife, aquatic life, botanical and
agricultural themes and glass art adorned benches and stepping
stones that young artists from Palm Beach County’s Boys and Girls
Club helped create.
