BCC and League of Cities Have Joint Meeting
County Commissioners and members of the Palm Beach County League of Cities held a joint meeting August 22, 2006 to discuss areas of mutual concern. Topics included a regional transit system, traffic improvements, and the urgent need for more workforce housing throughout Palm Beach County. With approximately half of County residents living in municipalities and half in unincorporated areas, both boards pledged to meet frequently.
At the conclusion of the joint meeting, the BCC again discussed Torrey Pines Institute's request to receive Board approval for a $21 million incentive to move to Boca Raton. However, Board members delayed a decision until further contract negotiations can be completed by staff.
