County Emergency Management Monitoring Tropical Storm Fay

The Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management continues to monitor and prepare for possible affects of Tropical Storm Fay currently located southwest of Cuba.  A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for the Southeast coast of Florida.  This includes all of Palm Beach County and Lake Okeechobee. A Tropical Storm Watch means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the area within 36 hours.

A decision of possible school closings for Monday will be made by School Board officials today after the 5 p.m. advisory conference call with the National Hurricane Center.  The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is staffed and County officials are in communication with the State EOC, National Hurricane Center and Emergency Management Offices in the South Florida region.  Palm Beach County will continue to issues updates as needed.
