Palm Beach County officials will host a grand-opening celebration for the new Crossroads Center in South Bay on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. This family event is free and open to the public.
Crossroads Center, located adjacent to South Bay RV Campground on US 27/SR 80, includes a new community building that is available to rent for private functions. The project also includes new boat ramps and floating docks and a 1926 railroad worker’s cottage that has undergone a dramatic renovation. Picnic tables, sidewalks, benches and parking have also been added to the area, as well as new landscaping.
The grand opening will begin with a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a community-wide celebration for all ages. Guests can cool off on a waterslide, move to the beat of music provided by a live DJ and enjoy the challenge of an obstacle course. Family games are also planned, and self-guided tours of the railroad worker’s cottage will be available.
Representatives from local organizations will be on hand with equipment, displays and information, and guests will be treated to a free, tasty barbecue during the lunch hour.
Crossroads Center is located at 50 Levee Road, adjacent to the South Bay RV Campground in South Bay.
