—New Pool Opens on Saturday, September 9—

Glades area residents can enjoy free admission to the new Pioneer Park Aquatic Center for a full day—along with music and lots of cool, wet fun! The grand opening celebration of the new pool, hosted by County Commission Chairman Tony Masilotti, is scheduled for Saturday, September 9, from 9:30 am until 3:00 pm. A DJ will be on hand spinning everyone’s favorite tunes while guests enjoy the exciting features of the colorful new pool facility.

They can wash away the last of the summer heat with water falling from red, yellow and blue tumble buckets, or stand beneath a curtain of water for a refreshing alternative. Three winding waterslides offer thrilling rides. When guests are ready for a short break from the sun and fun, they’ll find lots of shade nearby under the red, yellow, blue and green Funbrellas found on deck. Those just looking to relax can take advantage of the many comfortable lounge chairs that are available.

Pioneer Park Aquatic Center also features a 4,784 square foot bathhouse with offices and restrooms. Following the excitement of opening day, the new facility will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm until the close of the 2006 season on October 29.

Pioneer Park Aquatic Center will reopen for the 2007 season from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Tuesday – Sunday, from 12:00 noon – 6:00 pm (closed on Mondays). Swim lessons are offered during the morning hours throughout the summer. Admission to the aquatic center will be $1 for persons over the age of 3, and youth aged 3 and under will be admitted free of charge.
