Palm Tran Unveils New Buses

Sporting a new look, the latest additions to Palm Tran’s fleet have arrived. As part of a 20-vehicle order, Palm Tran purchased eight new-style transit buses. These buses are intended to service customers along US 1, Military Trail, Southern Boulevard and the Glades area – the transit system’s most popular routes.

Along with a new styling package and paint scheme, all buses include improved customer features such as interior and exterior digital signage, next stop announcement systems and improved seating. Several safety and security features, such as exterior reflecting striping and logos for improved visibility and on-board video surveillance, have also been added.

Thirty-one new buses are scheduled to arrive in 2007, 18 as replacements and 13 for expansion.
