Thanks to local Palm Beach artist Susan P. Cochran, five very large ant sculptures will be placed on the property of Palm Beach International Airport as part of Palm Beach County’s Art in Public Places program. The painted-bronze ant sculptures range in height from three to seven feet and up to 25 feet in length. The largest, the queen, weighs in at a hefty 7,500 pounds. On loan to Palm Beach County for one year, the sculpture is titled “Ant Colony.”
