Commissioner Kanjian Holds Press Conference to Propose Nonpartisan County Commission

"A Nonpartisan County Commission Equals Good Government"

Commissioner Bob Kanjian held his first press conference as a County Commissioner on September 24, 2007, one month after being appointed to office by the Governor.  The press conference was held to discuss his proposal for a nonpartisan County Commission.

Commenting on the present process of electing Commissioners, he stated, "Our current system has perpetuated the role of party boss and shadowy power brokers.  To dispel any allegations of self-interest, I am prepared to place forward this initiative so that it takes effect after the 2008 election cycle and does not affect my possible reelection campaign."
