The Palm Beach County Canvassing Board announces the following results of a second machine recount of ballots cast in the August 26, 2008 primary for the Palm Beach County 15th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Group 23 race.
William S. “Bill” Abramson: 45,233 Richard I. Wennet: 45,118
Because the margin of difference, 115, is within one-fourth of one percent of the total number of votes cast, 102,750, election workers have been court ordered to conduct a manual recount today (Saturday) of the overvotes and undervotes, ballots that were rejected by the machines.
If the manual recount cannot be completed by 5 p.m. today, it will be continued Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The recount at the Tabulation Center will be carried live on PBC-TV County Cable Channel 20. The Tabulation Center is located on the airport service road south of Belvedere Road between 8th and 13th streets in West Palm Beach.
