County Opens New Recycling Facility

On September 8, 2009, Commissioner Abrams participated in the grand-opening ceremony for the newly constructed Recovered Materials Processing Facility operated by the Solid Waste Authority (SWA).

This new facility is one of the largest publicly-owned recycling facilities in the country and will able to process both residential and commercial materials collected in the county. SWA plans to expand both the types and amount of materials processed at this facility.
