County Branch Library in Pahokee Reopens

Commissioner Masilotti has plenty of help cutting the ribbon to officially reopen the Loula V. York Branch Library.

A grand reopening of the Loula V. York County Branch Library in Pahokee was held on September 30. Commissioner Tony Masilotti, Library Director John Callahan and Pahokee Mayor J. P. Sasser welcomed local elected officials, members of the Library Advisory Board and residents. The renovation project was funded under the countywide 2002 library bond issue. Improvements include a new entrance, a larger seating area, an enclosed study room, more computers, and a completely new collection of 18,000 books, periodicals, CDs and DVDs.
