Palm Beach County’s Public Affairs Department has won six International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) awards in its 2006 professional competition.

Headquartered in Boise, Idaho, the IFEA drew 1,380 entries from among the world’s top festivals and events such as the Pasadena Tournament of Roses; the Kentucky Derby Festival; and the Rotterdam Festival in the Netherlands.

The Palm Beach County Days 2006 event won a total of five awards with its theme of “Wild About Palm Beach County.” All promotional materials, events and decorations for the three-day Tallahassee event incorporated a safari motif. The event won gold awards for “Best Event Newsletter” and for “Best Miscellaneous Clothing” – a safari shirt. Two silver-level awards were presented for “Best Sponsor Solicitation Video” and “Best Solicitation Package” given for sponsorship opportunities. A bronze award was presented for “Best Sponsor Follow-up Report.”

A bronze award was also given for Public Affairs’ production of the four-color program for the 2005 Economic Summit. This two-day event held at the Convention Center in November 2005 attracted more than 400 attendees and helped draft the County’s strategic economic plan for the next decade.
