The oldest street in the Village of Royal Palm Beach will have new bike lanes, landscaping, lighting and other improvements thanks to $400,000 in gas tax funding from Palm Beach County. Commissioner Tony Masilotti delivered the big check during the October 5 Village Council meeting. Before the check presentation, Commissioner Masilotti gave a very positive update on the Acreage reliever road (State Road 7 extension) project. Groundbreaking for Phase 1, from Okeechobee Boulevard to Persimmon Boulevard, is set for December and should take about two years to complete. The extension will help ease congestion in the village caused by heavy commuter traffic from The Acreage.
