Scripps Second Temporary Facility Opens in Jupiter

When fully occupied, the new Scripps Florida Temporary Laboratory will house a staff of 100 people including the new Cancer Biology Department.

The second temporary Scripps Florida laboratory building was dedicated on Monday, October 16. The new 33,000 square foot building was completed in August, and staff should be moved in by the end of October. The ceremony took place at the John D. MacArthur Campus of Florida Atlantic University in Jupiter.

Speakers included Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners Chairman Tony Masilotti, District 1 Commissioner Karen Marcus, FAU President Frank T. Brogan and Scripps Florida Vice President of Scientific Operations Dr. Harry Orf.

Officials from Palm Beach County, Florida Atlantic University and Scripps Florida cut the ribbon at the new Scripps Florida Temporary Laboratory.

Scripps Florida is an expansion of The Scripps Research Institute, the world's largest, private non-profit biomedical research facility.
