At the direction of the Board of County Commissioners (BCC), Palm Tran Connection, the paratransit service of Palm Beach County’s public transportation agency, has reinstated Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) trips for adult daycare and educational trips that were previously eliminated due to budget cuts. These include TD trips for job interviews, employment training and workshops.
Effective October 1, 2009, trips provided under the TD program were prioritized for medical, employment and nutritional/food shopping purposes only. On October 6, the BCC voted to extend the service through January 31, 2010.
The one-way fare for TD trips will continue to be $3 per trip. There will be no exceptions. Failure to pay this fare may result in the rescheduling of your transportation.
