“Solar Abstractions” Art Exhibition at Palm Beach International Airport

Through photography, painting and digital media, Solar Abstractions features works that explore the power and brilliance of the sun’s splendor in Palm Beach County.

Twenty-one Palm Beach County artists were selected by the county’s Public Art Committee based on artistic merit and how well the Solar Abstractions theme is reflected. The exhibition is on display from Sept. 18, 2009 through Dec. 17, 2009 in the Airport’s Concession Level 2.  For a virtual tour of the exhibition visit: www.pbcgov.com/fdo/art/exhibitions.htm.

Solar Abstractions features works by local artists Jon Allen and Grant Williams of Jupiter, Erik Kucera, Sigrid Lium and Tula Antikainen of West Palm Beach, Chief Joseph the Eagle  and Norman Berman of Lake Worth, Peter Debe, Patricia Levey, Leora  Klaymer Stewart and Cecily Hangen of Palm Beach, Stanford H. Slutsky of Delray Beach, Tom Parker and Margaret Ziede of Boca Raton, Teresa Ann Frazee, Carmen Faya-Gomila and Cynthia Kallan of Boynton Beach, Lynn Morgan, Connie Robayo, Fernando Rodriquez and Barry Seidman of Palm Beach Gardens.

Artists interested in receiving “Calls to Artists” for upcoming airport exhibitions and other Art in Public Places projects can submit their contact information through the Artists’ Registry page of Palm Beach County’s Art in Public Places Web site, www.pbcgov.com/fdo/art/registry.htm.

The public is invited to attend an Artist Reception on Nov. 12, 2009, 5:30 – 7 p.m.
