The Lake Worth Lagoon Symposium Planning Committee is soliciting papers and posters for the Lake Worth Lagoon Symposium to be held at Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Weyenburg Center on Wednesday, May 16, 2007. Environmental organizations, government agencies, businesses and industry and others are invited to participate by submitting a paper or poster, showcasing scientific research and findings and/or restoration projects within the Lake Worth Lagoon watershed.
The Call for Papers is directed toward all recently completed projects or those projects currently in progress. It is not necessary for these projects to have been peer reviewed or published. Suggested topics are:
- Marina & Estuarine Biology - Flora and Fauna
- Listed Species
- Environmental Restoration/Enhancement
- GIS and Mapping
- Hydrology and Salinity
- Recreational Perspective (e.g. fishing, diving, and boating)
- Waterfronts and Public Access
- Water Quality
- Watershed Planning - Environmental Perspective
- Watershed Planning - Economic Perspective
- Watershed Protection
The deadline for abstract submission is December 8, 2006.
Abstracts for both papers and posters should be submitted online at: www.co.palm-beach.fl.us/erm/lwlsymposium/index.asp. Symposium organizers reserve the final selection decision for all poster/paper submissions.
