Palm Beach County Commissioners Take Oath of Office

At the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners meeting on November 21, 2006, one new County Commissioner and two current members were sworn into office. Jess R. Santamaria, who was elected in the General Election on November 7, joined the board as the new District 6 commissioner. Commissioner Mary McCarty and Commissioner Koons were also sworn in.

After the swearing in, the board reorganized and elected new leadership. District 7 Commissioner Addie L. Greene is the new chairperson, and District 2 Commissioner Jeff Koons is vice-chair. The chairperson serves as the ceremonial head of the County and directs board meetings. The vice-chair assumes the duties when the chair is absent.

The Board of County Commissioners meetings are held in the Jane M. Thompson Memorial Chambers on the sixth floor of the Governmental Center, 301 North Olive Avenue in Downtown West Palm Beach.
