Commissioner McCarty Hosts Meeting with State Representative

Rep. Dean Cannon and Commissioner Mary McCarty welcome the opportunity to talk one-on-one with guests.

On Tuesday, November 13, Commissioner McCarty hosted roundtable discussions with local elected officials, business and community leaders featuring State Representative Dean Cannon (Winter Park) who is slated to be Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2010. Rep. Cannon is currently chairman of the Economic and Infrastructure Council and also serves on the Legislative Budget Commission, Policy and Budget Council and Rules and Calendar Council.

The roundtable discussions were lively and informative and focused on a broad range of challenging topics such as the proposed property tax amendments, budgetary cutbacks, homeowners insurance and illegal immigration. Representative Cannon provided everyone with an opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues relevant to them, their families, businesses and community. As always, it was a excellent opportunity to hear from local community and business leaders with their suggestions and comments on various local and statewide issues.
