New Hypoluxo Rd. Bridge Crossing Florida’s Turnpike Opens Friday

The much anticipated east-west connection of Hypoluxo Road is now complete. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on the bridge Friday morning, November 20. Commissioner Shelley Vana, along with PBC officials and community groups, will be in attendance. There will be a short speaking engagement followed by the ribbon cutting and the actual opening of the road to traffic.

The new road will greatly reduce travel time for residents west of the Turnpike who used to have to go south to Boynton Beach Boulevard or north to Lantana Road. Almost 2 miles of Hypoluxo Road were widened from 2-lanes to a 4-lane divided roadway, and the remainder was new road construction, including the construction of a new bridge over Florida’s Turnpike, making Hypoluxo Road a continuous east-west corridor from SR 7 to South Dixie Highway.
