Palm Beach County has received additional funding from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to continue operating the Lake Region Commuter Route for an additional two months. The service was scheduled to end December 28, 2008, but instead will remain operational until at least February 28, 2009.
The additional funding has been provided by FDOT to give Hendry County more time to better examine all available options that would enable them to continue the day to day operation of the service. The Lake Region Commuter Route runs from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily, providing service to Belle Glade, South Bay and Clewiston.
