Commissioner Greene Helps Distribute Free Turkeys on Christmas Eve

On Wednesday, December 24, Commissioner Addie Greene was helping those in need by joining Don King in distributing free turkeys.  This is the eighth year that King has handed out free turkeys to residents of Palm Beach County. 

Three trucks carrying 2,165 turkeys arrived at the Jai-Alai Fronton on 45th Street in West Palm Beach early in the morning despite the hazardous road conditions up north.   The distribution of so many turkeys was made possible through the cooperation of several local agencies, the Health Department, faith-based groups, the Town of Mangonia Park, the City of Riviera Beach, the Community Food Alliance and the county’s Human Services, Head Start and Veterans Services divisions of the Community Services Department.  Members of the county Roads Section were also working very hard lifting the large boxes of 18- to 24-pound frozen turkeys out of the trucks.
