The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, through the Economic Development Office, has secured $6 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 108 Loan Program for Oxygen Development, LLC. The Deerfield Beach-based company is building a new manufacturing facility on South Congress Avenue in the village of Palm Springs that will create an estimated 400 new full-time jobs within the next five (5) years.
A world-class supplier of color cosmetics, skin care, hair care and over-the-counter drug products, Oxygen’s 218,000-square-foot project represents a $23 million local investment and is the largest economic development project ever in the village. Design plans have utilized green building standards to reduce energy consumption, and the layout incorporates logical manufacturing flows which will enable Oxygen to become an even stronger competitor in the global marketplace.
“We are very excited to be working with Oxygen Development to bring manufacturing jobs to this richly diverse community, and we look forward to the completion of this exemplary project,” said District 2 Commissioner Paulette Burdick.
