The Palm Beach County Department of Financial Management and Budget (FMB) has once again received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
This marks the 21st consecutive year the department has been recognized by the Chicago-based nonprofit professional organization. FMB Director Richard Roberts accepted the Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation on behalf of his staff.
The award reflects a commitment to meet the highest principles of government budgeting. In order to receive it, FMB had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to show how well the Palm Beach County budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
The Government Finance Officers Association serves nearly 17,000 government finance professionals throughout North America. The organization’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards program is the only national awards program for governmental budgeting.
