Commissioner Newell Addresses Participants at Lake Worth Lagoon Symposium
Commissioner Warren Newell welcomed an audience of more than 300 at the Lake Worth Lagoon Symposium held on May 16, 2007. The event took place at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach.
The symposium provided information on research and restoration projects in the Lake Worth Lagoon and its watershed. It also addressed the perspectives of business and recreational interests that depend on the lagoon. Speakers covered a variety of pertinent topics including the current status of the watershed, the progress of completed and ongoing projects and future goals of restoring, protecting and enhancing this important urban system.
