Commissioner Newell Provides $312,687
For Improvements to West Boynton Ballfields

Commissioner Newell recommended improvements to the ballfields at the County’s West Boynton Park and the County Commission unanimously voted to approve $312,687 from his discretionary recreation activity program monies for this initiative.

The improvements were part of a joint agreement with the School District to provide for ballfield lighting and batting cages since the Park Vista High School shares athletic facilities with the park.

In commenting on these improvements, Commissioner Newell said, "With these lights and new facilities, we can obtain extended use of these ballfields by the students and residents alike."

The West Boynton Park and Recreation Center is located at 6000 Northtree Blvd. just east of Jog Road.
