Waste Water Force Main Break in West Boca

Waste Water Force Main Break in West Boca

For Immediate Release: Date: June 15, 2007
Contact: Robert Nelton, Senior Public Relations Specialist, Water Utilities 561-493-6063

Residents of west Boca within the Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department service area are being asked to strictly limit water use to prevent lift station overflows while repairs are being made to a waste water force main. This includes all interior water use: washing clothes and dishes, bathing and flushing toilets.

This morning a contractor working for the County accidentally uprooted a portion of the main near the intersection of Yamato Road and State Road 7. Waste water has spilled but is being contained on the property near the incident. There is no health hazard, but residents in the area may detect some odor until the repairs are made.

The Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department has fully dispatched all of its resources to correct the situation and clean the area quickly. Pump station overflows can be reported to Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department at 561.740.4600, option #1.
