Proposed Public Art Designs for County Convention Center on Display

Community Invited to Comment on Exterior Light Public Art Project Proposals

The public has an opportunity to view and comment on the semi-final design proposals for Exterior Light Public Art Project for the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The proposed designs will be on display for public comment from Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 through Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The display includes project narratives, conceptual designs and multimedia presentations.  Semi-finalist artists Paul Deeb and Barbara Grygutis created eye-catching designs for exterior lighting of the Convention Center for the hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors who experience this “gateway” to Palm Beach County and the City of West Palm Beach.

The public is invited to review and comment on proposal materials either online or in person. Comment cards will also be available at the display in the Convention Center. 

All public comments will be reviewed and addressed by the artists and the Finalist Selection Committee as part of the selection process.  The project budget is $611,500.
