Commissioner Kanjian Presents Proclamation for Lake Clarke Shore's 50th Anniversary Celebration

Commissioner Kanjian joins Mayor Lewis as Jim Tackett, the Town's Chairman for the 50th Anniversary Celebration, holds the Proclamation.

At the October 9, 2007 meeting for the Town Council of Lake Clarke Shores, Commissioner Bob Kanjian presented a County Proclamation declaring that day as the Town of Lake Clarke Shores Day. The Proclamation was in observance of the Town's 50th Anniversary. Commissioner Kanjian sponsored the Proclamation which was approved with the unanimous consent and signatures of the Board of County Commissioners.

Commissioner Kanjian explained the nonpartisan Commission proposal was separate from another proposal made by a fellow Commissioner to have Commissioners elected countywide. Commissioner Kanjian noted that residents had spoken on this issue in 1988 and voted to have single-member district representation by County Commissioners.

Commissioner Kanjian responds to a question from Mayor Lewis regarding the Commissioner's proposal to change the County's Charter to establish a nonpartisan County Commission.
