Commissioner Kanjian Supports "Buddy Walk" To Help Children with Down Syndrome

Following the presentation of the Proclamation, "Buddy Walk" participants had the choice of walking a one-mile advocacy walk or going on a 5K fitness walk.

On Sunday morning, October 21st, Commissioner Bob Kanjian and his family participated in the Annual "Buddy Walk" with thousands of other participants packing the grounds of John Prince Park. He was there to lend his support, along with his wife, Anne, and their two children, to the Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization that was established in 1980.

During his remarks at the presentation of the Proclamation by the Board of County Commissioners, Commissioner Kanjian remarked that he wanted to raise the awareness of Down Syndrome and note "the incredible achievements possible by those with Down Syndrome."
