Commissioner Kanjian Addresses League of Cities Meeting

Commissioner Bob Kanjian was recently invited to address the general membership meeting of the League of Cities held in the Lake Worth Golf Club.  The League of Cities represents all 38 municipalities within Palm Beach County.  At this meeting, elected officials and managers from 22 cities were in attendance.

Commissioner Kanjian spoke on issues affecting both County and city interests such as affordable housing, property taxes and the prospect of future budget cuts and the possibility of a nonpartisan County Commission. At least five other counties within the state already have a nonpartisan County Commission: Columbia, Leon, Miami-Dade, Orange and Volusia. He also entertained questions such as voting on the referendum for municipal home rule.
