Applicants seeking employment with Palm Beach County can now apply online by visiting www.pbcgov.jobs. Online applications are accepted 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the Web site until the closing date.
All online applicants (OLAs) will initially create a “profile” that serves a user account in the system. They will be able to copy their “profile” of previously submitted applications to submit for other open positions, and update their profiles any time, even if they do not wish to submit an application at the time. OLAs can also access their unique “My Profile Page” that displays their entire application history, including submitted applications and pending/incomplete applications.
There are numerous “smart” prompts that alert OLAs to documentation required, provide links to needed information and specify deadlines/dates to take note of. OLAs will receive instant Web confirmations and appreciation for activities they perform while in the system, as well as personalized, job-specific e-mails.
For those wishing to apply with a paper application, a new version of the document has been developed. It allows demographic data to be collected via a scannable form. The system combines paper and online applications into a single pool for online viewing and screening. It recognizes current, permanent status employees applying for “Promotional Opportunities,” as well as previous Board of County Commissioner employees and their re-hire status.
The Human Resources Web page has also been updated with a new color palette and a revamped recruitment/career opportunities page. The page is designed to appeal to those interested in public service and to make candidates aware of what the County has to offer as an employer andwhat the County looks for in potential employees.
