Hurricane Center Director Bill Read to Speak at Palm Beach County EOC Media Orientation

On Tuesday, May 27th, 2008, Palm Beach County Public Affairs and the Division of Emergency Management will host an orientation for members of the news media, meteorologists and public information officers. The session will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), 20 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach.

On the agenda is a preview of the 2008 season by National Hurricane Center Director Bill Read, a presentation of the County’s plans for the season, and a review of media procedures during activation by Public Affairs. A question and answer session and a tour of the facility will follow.

The media is encouraged to send any staff who may be assigned to the EOC during activation. The EOC is located on the east side of Military Trail, just south of Southern Boulevard. For more information, please call 355-2754.
