Commissioner Bob Kanjian presented a Proclamation from the Board of County Commissioners to Genevieve Cousminer, Esq., executive director, Coalition of Independent Living Options, at their Disaster Planning Conference for Persons with Disabilities.  The meeting was held at the Jewish Community Center in West Palm Beach.  The all-day conference was free and included lunch.

The conference included representatives from more than 23 state, county and non-profit organizations who informed persons with disabilities of what measures should be taken in advance and what services are available to help them in the event of a disaster.  The Proclamation recognized conference planners and participants for their efforts on behalf of members of the disabled community that face unique challenges in emergency situations.
