GIS Mapping

GIS tracks geographical mapping and information data bases. Ownership Management tracks property transfers and deed changes.

The Property Appraiser's Geographical Information System (GIS) identifies and maintains a complete inventory of all land parcels in Palm Beach County. The information includes zoning and land use plans, utilities and traffic.

The database is updated daily and includes the owner's name, acreage and tax district boundaries. Our Geographical Information System assists the deputy appraisers with detailed property ownership maps. The maps include site dimensions and zoning information.

Each parcel is identified with a Property Control Number, which pinpoints the land's location. You can view an aerial photo of any parcel of land in the county on our Web site.

The mapping process consists of collecting, interpreting and compiling property data. Sources of property data are recorded deeds, property surveys, subdivision plats, road plats, resolutions, ordinances and various other sources. The result of this process is a complete map that is annotated with acreage, lot, block, streets with names and the PCN.

Each map covers one square mile in the urban and suburban areas and four square miles in the rural areas of Palm Beach County. You are welcomed to use our offices to research aerial and ownership maps. The maps also can be purchased at the Property Appraiser's Office (click here for location nearest you).
