Palm Beach County Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks Takes the Helm as President of Professional Association  

West Palm Beach, FL – Palm Beach County Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks, CFA, AAS, was sworn in as President of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) during ceremonies at the IAAO’s 83rd Annual International Conference on Assessment Administration in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her role for the office of President of IAAO will begin on January 1, 2018.

As President, Jacks will serve as Chair of the Executive Board. She has served as IAAO President-Elect in 2017, Vice President in 2016 and was past President of the Florida Chapter of IAAO.

Jacks is a board member of the Economic Forum of Palm Beach County and the Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County, and an active alumnus and former board member of Leadership Palm Beach County. She has served as president of Executive Women of the Palm Beaches and president of the Friends of the Mandel Public Library. She is also a former member of the City of West Palm Beach Zoning Board of Appeals. She received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida.

IAAO is the leading nonprofit, educational and research association for individuals in the assessment profession and others with an interest in property valuation and taxation. IAAO’s mission is to promote innovation and excellence in property appraisal, assessment administration and property tax policy through professional development, education, research, and technical assistance.
