Real Property, Agricultural Classification or Exemption appeal and late filing
On Petition Form DR486 Sections I and II must be completed by the Petitioner for real property, agricultural classification, or exemption appeal and late filling.
Under Section I, please check:
Box 1 to appeal your property's Market Value or if a property owner's association is filing on common area property.
Box 2 to appeal denial of Homestead Exemption.
Box 3 to appeal denial of Agricultural Classification.
Box 4 for Late Filing, Homestead Exemption.
Box 5 for Late Filing, Agricultural Classification.
Section III must be completed if either Box 1 or Box 3 is checked.
Section IV requires that the Petition be sworn to by the Petitioner. You may have the petition notarized or you may bring the form to the nearest Clerk of Circuit Court to be attested.
A $15 Petition filing fee is required for each property. In certain cases, outlined in Florida Statutes Chapter 194.011, additional parcels may be added at $5 per parcel; however, this does not apply to Agricultural Classification or Exemption.
Checks should be made payable to the Board of County Commissioners.
Completed Petitions with separate filing fees may be hand-delivered to the nearest Palm Beach County Clerk of Circuit Court's office or mailed to the Value Adjustment Board
