Program Calendar


Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). Please call if you are not able to attend the program to allow those on the waiting list to attend. If you are more than five minutes late to a program you have made a reservation for, your spot will be given to a person on the waiting list.

Participants/guardians are required to sign a Program Participation Form upon arrival to the program. Program fees are due upon arrival to the program.

    3:15pm is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about a specific animal and then watch while they are fed.

  • Qi Gong – a form of Tai Chi
    Saturdays at 9:00am
    Adults, $40/month, FREE introductory class (Reservations required – call 561-419-5403)
    Instructor Jim Kelly has been practitioner of Martial Arts for 35 years and has been a Tai Chi instructor in West Boca for 12 years.  Come and experience the benefits of this ancient Chinese system of exercise and meditation.  Improve your flexibility, balance, muscle tone, energy and mental well being.     Join an USA Archery and N.F.A.A. certified instructor and learn the skills needed to successfully use a bow. This exciting program teaches bow and arrow safety, and how to properly use the equipment before getting to practice on the range.

    Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

    Ages 8-15, $10/participant

    Ever wondered what it would be like to be an animal keeper? Come work behind the scenes* with Animal Care Staff and Volunteers. From cleaning cages and preparing diets to going on a “turtle walk”, learn what it really means to care for these special animal ambassadors. (approx. 11/2 hours) *kids may get messy!

    Learn the basics for freshwater fishing and practice new skills. Class includes: fishing pole basics, casting tips, freshwater fish identification, and fish habits. All fishing supplies are provided. Please bring sun protection, a water bottle, and wear closed-toed shoes (or water shoes) that can get wet/muddy.

    Join Daggerwing’s NEW Outdoor Adventure program and learn the basics of canoeing. Join an ACA certified instructor who will teach the parts and terms associated with canoeing as well as the basic skills needed to successfully navigate a canoe.

    Integrate modern technology with the exploration of nature. This BYOB* activity provides a chance for families to get outside and ride together while participating in the world-wide scavenger hunt called geocaching.  Learn how to use a GPS hand-held unit or bring a smartphone with the free Geocaching Intro app installed. *Bring your own bike

    All Ages, $5/participant (Reservations Required)
    Always wondered what Daggerwing’s boardwalk would be like after dark? Join a naturalist on a guided boardwalk tour at night* to look for the shining eyes of nocturnal wildlife and listen for the calls of both predators and prey that use the darkness to their advantage.  This program offers a new perspective on the wetlands surrounding Daggerwing Nature Center. *Be sure to bring bug spray and a flashlight
