Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). Please call if you are not able to attend the program to allow those on the waiting list to attend. If you are more than five minutes late to a program you have made a reservation for, your spot will be given to a person on the waiting list.

Participants/guardians are required to sign a Program Participation Form upon arrival to the program. Program fees are due upon arrival to the program.

DAILY ANIMAL FEEDINGS

  • Daily when the center is open 3:15pm-3:30pm
    Families / All Ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
    3:15pm is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about a specific animal and then watch while they are fed.

    • Wednesday – Alligator
    • Thursday – Snake
    • Friday – Skunk
    • Saturday - Alligator

 

  • Qi Gong – a form of Tai Chi
    Saturdays at 9:00am
    Adults, $40/month, FREE introductory class (Reservations required – call 561-419-5403)
    Instructor Jim Kelly has been practitioner of Martial Arts for 35 years and has been a Tai Chi instructor in West Boca for 12 years.  Come and experience the benefits of this ancient Chinese system of exercise and meditation.  Improve your flexibility, balance, muscle tone, energy and mental well being.   • MOMMY, MOTHER NATURE & ME: SAVE OUR PLANET
    Tuesday, April 21, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5, $4/child (Reservations Required)
    Do you do all that you can to help the Earth? Our Mommy, Mother Nature and Me series is designed to introduce toddlers and preschoolers to nature through experiential and interactive learning that is fun for grownups too!  Please RSVP as space is limited.

  • NIGHT HIKE
    Friday, April 24, 7:30 p.m.
    All ages, $5/participant (Reservations Required)
    Always wondered what Daggerwing’s boardwalk would be like after dark? Here is your chance to find out!  Join our Naturalist-guided boardwalk tour at night to look for the shining eyes of nocturnal wildlife and listen for the calls of both predators and prey that use the darkness to their advantage.  This program offers a new perspective on the wetlands surrounding Daggerwing Nature Center.  Space is limited, please RSVP.
    *Be sure to bring bug spray and a flashlight

  • EARTH DAY
    Saturday, April 25, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
    All ages, FREE* (No Reservations Required)
    Join us here at Daggerwing Nature Center to celebrate Earth Day!  The theme is “Save the Planet-Save the Parks.”  By starting near home and in our parks, we can all make little differences that when added together can change the world.  There will be guided nature walks, kid’s crafts, animal encounters and feedings, exhibitors, raffles, animal naming contest, and the popular ladybug release and much more.
    *Some optional activities may have a nominal fee

  • MINIATURE PREDATORS- A NATURALIST PROGRAM
    Saturday, May 9, 1:00 p.m.
    AllaAges; $3/participant (Reservations Required)
    Some of the world’s deadliest creatures can fit in the palm of your hand.   Join our Naturalist as she shows you the amazing,  but tiny, world of insect predators.  Learn about the different ways these bugs hunt and capture their prey.

  • MOMMY, MOTHER NATURE & ME: “A Day at the Beach”
    Tuesday, May 12, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5, $4/child (Reservations Required)
    Do you think the beach is all about getting a sun tan?  Come and learn about all the wildlife that love the beach too!  Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

  • MOMMY, MOTHER NATURE & ME: “Super Snakes”
    Tuesday, May 19, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5, $4/child (Reservations Required)
    Snakes aren’t scary; they are SUPER predators that help with pest control! Our Mommy, Mother Nature and Me series is designed to introduce toddlers and preschoolers to nature through experiential and interactive learning that is fun for grownups too!  Please RSVP as space is limited.

  • SENSATIONAL SNAKES A NATURALIST PROGRAM
    Saturday, May 23, 1:00 p.m.
    All ages; $3/participant (Reservations Required)
    Come and see a presentation about Florida’s fabulous native snakes.  Join our Naturalist as he teaches you how to identify the most common harmless and venomous snakes found in our area.  You will also get to see some of our Nature Center residents in person.

  • GEOCACHING BY BIKE
    Saturday, May 30, 10:00 a.m.
    All ages; $5/participant (Reservations Required)
    Come integrate modern technology with the exploration of nature.  This BYOB* activity provides a chance for families to get outside and ride together while participating in the world-wide scavenger hunt called geocaching.  Learn how to use a GPS hand held unit or bring your own smart phone with the free Geocaching Intro app installed.    *Bring your own bike
