Program Calendar

 

Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). Please call if you are not able to attend the program to allow those on the waiting list to attend. If you are more than five minutes late to a program you have made a reservation for, your spot will be given to a person on the waiting list.

Participants/guardians are required to sign a Program Participation Form upon arrival to the program. Program fees are due upon arrival to the program.

DAILY ANIMAL FEEDINGS

  • Daily when the center is open 3:15-3:30 p.m.
    Families / All Ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
    3:15pm is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about a specific animal and then watch while they are fed.

    • Wednesday – Alligator
    • Thursday – Snake
    • Friday – Skunk
    • Saturday - Alligator


QI GONG- A FORM OF TAI CHI

  • Saturdays, 9:00 a.m.
    Adults, $40/month, FREE introductory class (Reservations required – call 561-419-5403)

    Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

  • DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: TURTLES
    Tuesday, August 9, 3:30 p.m.
    All ages, FREE (Reservations required)
    Enjoy a special program about turtles featuring live animal ambassadors at the Glades Road Branch Library! Call the Glades Road Branch Library for details and to RSVP at (561) 482-4554.

  • ANIMAL KEEPER FOR A DAY       
    Wednesday, August 10, 10:00 a.m.
    All ages, $5/participant (Reservations required)
    Ever wondered what it would be like to be an animal keeper? Work behind the scenes* with Animal Care Staff and Volunteers.  From cleaning cages and preparing diets to providing enrichment, learn what it really means to care for these special animal ambassadors. *Kids may get messy!

  • TALKING ANIMALS 
    Saturday, August 13, 10:30 a.m.
    All ages/families, $3/person (Reservations required)
    Animals share many ways of communicating with one another, learn how in this fun and educational presentation. Join a naturalist with some of the nature center’s animal ambassadors to learn about the different ways animals communicate.

  • MOTHER NATURE & ME: DAY AT THE BEACH
    Tuesday, August 16, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5 (w/ guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
    Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

  • NIGHT HIKE
    Friday, August 26, 8:00 p.m.
    All ages, $5/participant (Reservations required)
    Always wondered what Daggerwing’s boardwalk would be like after dark? Find out in this naturalist-guided boardwalk tour at night* and look for the shining eyes of nocturnal wildlife and listen for the calls of both predators and prey that use the darkness to their advantage.*Be sure to bring bug spray and a flashlight.

    Join a naturalist for a family friendly program focusing on the amazing world of reptiles! Learn about these diverse scaly creatures and meet some resident reptiles up close and personal.

    Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

  • NIGHT HIKE
    Friday, September 23, 7:00 p.m.
    All ages, $5/participant (Reservations required)
