Program Calendar

 

Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). Please call if you are not able to attend the program to allow those on the waiting list to attend. If you are more than five minutes late to a program you have made a reservation for, your spot will be given to a person on the waiting list.

Participants/guardians are required to sign a Program Participation Form upon arrival to the program. Program fees are due upon arrival to the program.

DAILY ANIMAL FEEDINGS

  • Daily when the center is open 3:15pm-3:30pm
    Families / All Ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
    3:15pm is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about a specific animal and then watch while they are fed.

    • Wednesday – Alligator
    • Thursday – Snake
    • Friday – Skunk
    • Saturday - Alligator


SEPTEMBER

  • MOMMY, MOTHER NATURE and ME: FAIR WEATHER WITH FRIENDS
    Friday, September 5, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5, $4/child (Reservations Required)
    Learn about the seasons and find out what local animals do when the weather changes! This program introduces children to nature through music, stories, and activities specifically designed for toddlers.

  • MOMMY, MOTHER NATURE and ME: BUSY BEES
    Friday, September 19, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5, $4/child (Reservations Required)
    Find out what the BUZZ is all about! Make bee buzzers to take home after exploring these amazing insects. Enjoy stories, activities, music, and learn the Bee Dance. Mommy & Me programs are specifically designed to introduce children to nature through active play.

  • NATURALIST PROGRAM: ALL ABOUT AMPHIBIANS
    Saturday, September 20, 1:00 p.m.
    All Ages; $3/participant (Reservations Required)
    Join the nature center’s naturalist for a family friendly program focusing on the amazing world of amphibians! Learn beyond simple metamorphosis and meet the nature center’s resident amphibians up close and personal.

 

OCTOBER

  • MOMMY, MOTHER NATURE and METURTLE TIME
    Friday, October 3, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5, $4/child (Reservations Required)
    From the beach to the Everglades, turtle nesting season is coming to a close.  Introduce little ones to our local species of turtles and learn about nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a turtle-themed craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers.

  • MOMMY, MOTHER NATURE and MEBUMP IN THE NIGHT 
    Friday, October 17, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5, $4/child (Reservations Required)
    Explore the dark side of nature as little ones are introduced to nocturnal animals and help them understand that there is no reason to be afraid when the sun goes down. This is not a scary program and is designed specifically for toddlers and preschoolers! Enjoy a creepy craft, a spooky story, and meet the nature center’s most popular nocturnal creature – Shadow the Owl. 

  • HALLOWEEN EVENT: HOOT ‘N’ HOWL
    Friday, October 24, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
    All Ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
    Put on those Halloween costumes and celebrate Halloween a little bit early with the nature center’s not-so-spooky Hoot ‘N’ Howl event! This FREE family program* includes crafts, games, candy, live animals, and boardwalk tours – in the dark! *Some activities may include a small fee.
