DAGGERWING DOINGS

  • Reservations are required for ALL programs. Please call if you are not able to attend the program to allow those on the waiting list to attend.
  • Participants/guardians are required to sign a Program Participation Form upon arrival to the program.
  • Program fees are due upon arrival to the program.

CHILDREN’S NATURE SERIES

Parents! Bring your little ones to experience exciting nature topics! Programs may include activities such as: stories, puppets, games, role play, nature walks and crafts

JUNE

  • CHILDREN’S NATURE SERIES: CAMOUFLAGE
    Tuesday, June 3 at 2:30 pm
    Ages 3-6, $4 per participant
    Reservations Required
    Now you see it, now you don’t! Find out why animals use color and pattern to blend in with their environment.

  • CHILDREN’S NATURE SERIES: SNAKES
    Tuesday, June 17 at 2:30 pm
    Ages 3-6, $4 per participant
    Reservations Required
    Do snakes have ears? Find out the answer to this question and many more!

JULY

  • CHILDREN’S NATURE SERIES: DRAGONFLIES
    Tuesday, July 1 at 2:30 pm
    Ages 3-6, $4 per participant
    Reservations Required
    Do dragonflies bite? Find out and make a dragonfly craft to take home with you!

  • CHILDREN’S NATURE SERIES: OWLS
    Tuesday, July 15 at 2:30 pm

    Ages 3-6, $4 per participant
    Reservations Required
    Find out why some owls only come out at night and meet Cody, a real screech owl!

AUGUST

Please note: Children’s Nature Series will NOT be offered the first week of August.

Bring the whole family and join us as we take an up-close and personal look at some of our LIVE educational animals.

JUNE

  • ANIMAL ENCOUNTER: MAMMALS
    Saturday, June 14 at 2:00 pm
    Families, $3 per person
    Reservations Required
    What mammals are found in south Florida? Learn about Florida mammals and get a chance to touch a live skunk.

  • ANIMAL ENCOUNTER: ALLIGATORS
    Saturday, June 28 at 2:00 pm
    Families, $3 per person
    Reservations Required
    What’s the difference between an alligator and a crocodile? Look for alligators in our wetlands.

JULY

  • ANIMAL ENCOUNTER: INVASIVE SPECIES
    Saturday, July 12 at 2:00 pm
    Families, $3 per person
    Reservations Required
    What is an “invasive” species? Meet one our most visible invasive species – the Marine Toad. Also, learn about the importance of planting native plants to help our environment.

  • ANIMAL ENCOUNTER: TURTLES
    Saturday, July 26 at 2:00 pm
    Families, $3 per person
    Reservations Required
    What’s the difference between a turtle and a tortoise? Find out and get a chance to touch a live Gopher Tortoise.

AUGUST

  • ANIMAL ENCOUNTER: NIGHT-TIME ANIMALS
    Saturday, August 30 at 2:00 pm
    Families, $3 per person
    Reservations Required
    What animals come out at night? Join us during the day to learn about nocturnal animals and meet some night-time visitors.

NIGHT HIKES

What comes out at night? Join us for a walk through our wetlands and see some special adaptations of nocturnal animals. You are sure to see an owl! Bring bug spray and a flashlight!
