Program Calendar

 

Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). Please call if you are not able to attend the program to allow those on the waiting list to attend. If you are more than five minutes late to a program you have made a reservation for, your spot will be given to a person on the waiting list.

Participants/guardians are required to sign a Program Participation Form upon arrival to the program. Program fees are due upon arrival to the program.

DAILY ANIMAL FEEDINGS

  • Daily when the center is open 3:15pm-3:30pm
    Families / All Ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
    3:15pm is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about a specific animal and then watch while they are fed.

    • Wednesday – Alligator
    • Thursday – Snake
    • Friday – Skunk
    • Saturday - Alligator



NOVEMBER

  • DAGGERWING VISITS the WEST BOCA LIBRARY: OWL CHAT
    November 17, 3:00 p.m.
    All ages, FREE (Reservations Required. Please call the West Boca Library at 561-470-1604 to RSVP.)
    Meet Shadow the owl and learn lots of interesting facts about her and her relatives at a special presentation at the Palm Beach County Library’s West Boca branch!

  • MOMMY, MOTHER NATURE and ME: FALL is COMING
    Friday, November 21, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5, $4/child (Reservations Required)
    Welcome in the season with fun activities like leaf rubbings and autumn stories. Our Mommy, Mother Nature and Me series continues to give little ones the chance to experience nature hands-on with activities designed specifically for toddlers and preschoolers.

  • RADICAL REPTILES- A NATURALIST PROGRAM
    Saturday, November 22, 1:00 p.m.
    All ages, $3/participant (Reservations Required)
    Join our Naturalist for a family friendly program that dives deep into the world of reptiles and even meet some of our cold-blooded residents up close and personal!

  • MOMMY, MOTHER NATURE and ME: LITTLE HOOTS
    Tuesday, November 25, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5, $4/child (Reservations Required)
    Shadow the Owl joins our popular children’s program to help teach us all a bit more about this nocturnal neighbor. Through use of stories, activities, music and crafts, this Mommy and Me series is designed specifically for children as a fun and interactive way to learn more about nature.

  • URBAN GARDENING- A NATURALIST PROGRAM
    Saturday, November 29, 1:00 p.m.
    All ages, $3/participant (Reservations Required)
    You don’t need a large yard to have a successful garden! Join our Naturalist for a family friendly program that will give you the dirt on container gardening for real people!



DECEMBER

  • BE AN ANIMAL KEEPER FOR A DAY
    December 23 & 30, 9:30-11:00 a.m.
    Ages 8-15, $10/per child, per class (Reservations Required)
    Children will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes and learn about the inner workings of animal care in a nature center setting. They will assist in diet preparation, cleaning the animal enclosures, feeding the animals, and even ‘walking the turtles.’ This program also includes teachings about animal husbandry, enrichments, and why training is an important part of caring for animals on a daily basis. Participants are asked to bring sun screen, a water bottle, and wear closed-toed shoes.
