Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). Please call if you are not able to attend the program to allow those on the waiting list to attend. If you are more than five minutes late to a program you have made a reservation for, your spot will be given to a person on the waiting list.

Participants/guardians are required to sign a Program Participation Form upon arrival to the program. Program fees are due upon arrival to the program.

DAILY ANIMAL FEEDINGS

  • Daily when the center is open 3:15-3:30 p.m.
    Families / All Ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
    3:15pm is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about a specific animal and then watch while they are fed.

    • Wednesday – Alligator
    • Thursday – Snake
    • Friday – Skunk
    • Saturday - Alligator

QI GONG- A FORM OF CHI

  • Saturdays, 9:00 a.m.
    Adults, $40/month, FREE introductory class (Reservations required – call 561-419-5403)

  • MOTHER NATURE & ME: “Backyard Birds”

    Mother Nature and Me series is designed to introduce toddlers and preschoolers to nature through experiential and interactive learning that is fun for grownups too!  Please RSVP as space is limited.

  • ANIMAL COMMUNICATION– a Naturalist Program
    Saturday, February 13, 10:30 a.m.

    We all know animals don’t talk but did you know many have other ways to communicate to each other?  Join our naturalist for a fun and educational talk about these different forms of animal communication. You may learn that some animals are smarter than you thought.

    Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

  • NIGHT HIKE
    Friday, February 26, 6:00 p.m.
    All ages, $5/participant (Reservations required – Call 561-629-8760)
    Always wondered what Daggerwing’s boardwalk would be like after dark? Here is your chance to find out!  Join our Naturalist-guided boardwalk tour at night to look for the shining eyes of nocturnal wildlife and listen for the calls of both predators and prey that use the darkness to their advantage.  This program offers a new perspective on the wetlands surrounding Daggerwing Nature Center.  Space is limited, please RSVP. *Be sure to bring bug spray and a flashlight

  • AMAZING ADAPTATIONS – a Naturalist Program

    Throughout the natural world there are animals that have had to learn to adapt to their environment.  Come and join our naturalist and learn why birds come in different shapes and sizes, why some animals can camouflage themselves, and learn many other interesting things that animals have evolved to survive.

  • GEOCACHING BY BIKE
    Wendesday, March 23, 10:00 a.m.

    Come integrate modern technology with the exploration of nature. This BYOP* activity provides a chance for families to get outside and ride together while participating in the world-wide scavenger hunt called geocaching. Learn how to use a GPS hand held unit or bring your own smart phone with the free Geocaching Intro app installed. * Bring your own bike

  • INTRO TO ARCHERY
    Thursday, March 24 at, 10:00 a.m.
    Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required – Call 561-629-8760)
    Join our USA Archery and N.F.A.A. certified staff and learn about archery. This exciting program teaches archery safety and how to properly use the equipment before getting to practice on the range.

  • INTRO TO CANOEING
    Friday, March 25 at, 10:00 a.m.
    Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required – Call 561-629-8760)
    Join our ACA certified staff who will teach you the parts and terms associated with canoeing as well as the basic skills needed to successfully navigate a canoe.
