APRIL

  • TAI CHI
    Thursdays, April 3, 10, 17, and 24, 2:00 p.m.
    Adults, $40/all sessions, $30/Friends of Green Cay members,
    $15/drop-in fee for one session (Reservations Required)

    Experience the benefits of this ancient Chinese system of exercise and meditation. Improve flexibility, balance, muscle tone, energy, and mental well-being.

  • PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
    Saturday, April 5, 9:00 a.m.
    Ages 9+, $3/person (Reservations Required)
    Learn about the basics of photography and composition of wildlife photos, then join the group for a guided photography walk on the boardwalk. Camera with a manual focus recommended
  • WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
    Taught by wildlife artist Philip Rathner
    Saturdays, April 5, 12, 19, and May 3 at 1:00 p.m.
    $40/all sessions, $30/Friends of Green Cay members
    (Reservations Required)
    Learn to paint wildlife in watercolors. An introduction to watercolor painting, materials needed and how to use them will be provided. Participants who attended last year’s workshop are welcome to bring any complete or incomplete work for additional help. Beginners welcome.

  • SCIENCE FOR SENIORS: NATIVE PLANTS IN OUR ZONE
    Wednesday, April 9, 1:00 p.m.
    Ages 50+, $5/person (Reservations Required)
    Hear about the colorful, bird-friendly, almost carefree native plants that thrive in our area. Learn what works best in your yard and how easy it is to maintain. Presented by Sydelle Dombrowsky, certified Florida master gardener.

  • BIRDS AND BREAKFAST
    Saturday, April 19, 9:00 a.m.
    Ages 9+, $3/person (Reservations Required, limit 10)
    Start your day at Green Cay and enjoy coffee and refreshments before embarking on a one-hour birding tour with a naturalist.

  • SCIENCE FOR SENIORS: SPRING MIGRATION WALK AND TALK
    Wednesday, April 23, 1:00 p.m.
    Ages 50+, $5/person (Reservations Required)
    Explore the secrets of bird migration. Learn which birds migrate, where they go, and why they travel such long distances. An emphasis will be placed on birds migrating through Green Cay. Afterwards a walk will be given on the boardwalk to search for migrating birds.

  • NIGHT STALKERS                                                                
    Thursday, April 24, 6:00 p.m.
    All ages, $5/person (Reservations Required, limit 20)
    Join a naturalist on a night-time boardwalk tour looking at nature from the point of view of its nocturnal residents.

  • STORY AND CRAFT TIME
    Saturday, April 26, 10:00 a.m.
    Suggested Ages: 3 to 6 yrs, $2/child (Reservations Required, limit 10)
    Kids will discover nature through crafts and stories about animals and other nature-related themes.

  • WORLD TAI CHI/CHI KUNG DAY
    Saturday, April 26, 11:30 a.m.
    All ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)

    Free event for the public to observe and participate in Tai Chi & Chi Kung movements. It is done all over the world on the same day and around the same time.

every Wednesday at 3 pm.
