Okeeheelee Nature Camp

Where Nature All-Stars Shine

Okeeheelee Nature Camp is a place where children are invited to explore Florida’s natural environment while making friends and having fun. Campers will learn to respect themselves, nature and others as they participate in nature walks, arts and crafts, canoeing, fishing, field trips and much, much more! By working with energetic and caring staff, campers will have a well rounded experience.

Program Hours: 9:00am – 4:00pm 
Drop-off: 7:30am – 9:00am.  Pick up: 4:00 – 5:30pm.
Fee: $185 per session (includes all supplies and field trips).
The camper to counselor ratio is twelve campers per one counselor.


Nature Detectives (Ages 7-8)

Become an all-star Nature Detective and learn about the treasures Florida has to offer. Each session includes archery, games, crafts, field trips and many other fun activities relating to the particular theme. (Max. 12 campers per session)


Earth Rangers (Ages 9-11)

As all-star Earth Rangers, campers will explore and investigate the natural wonders of Florida.  Each session includes archery, games, crafts, field trips and many other fun activities relating to the particular theme. (Max. 24 campers per session)


Eco-Explorers (Ages 12-14)

111005.03 Session III:  July 13–24 (Theme: Adventure Camp)
111005.04 Session IV: July 27–August 7 (Theme: Marine Camp)

As all-star Eco-Explorers, campers will discover what wild adventures are lurking throughout Florida. Each session includes archery, games, crafts, field trips and many other fun activities such as biking, snorkeling, seining, and even a ropes course! (Max. 12 campers per session)


Okeeheelee Nature CampRegistration Information

NEW FOR 2009! LOTTERY REGISTRATION:

Registration for the Okeeheelee Nature Camp lottery is in person or by fax (561-963-6725) from March 30– April 3 from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm at

  • John Prince Park Administration Building
    2700 6th Avenue South, Lake Worth (just east of Congress Avenue).

Families will be notified between April 7-10 if their child(ren) have been selected to attend camp.

After families have been notified, full payment for the first two sessions and required camp forms must be brought to one of the following locations by April 17:

  • Okeeheelee Nature Center on April 11 (10:30 am – 4:30 pm) and April 14 (1:30–4:30 pm) ONLY
  • John Prince Park Administration Building, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Failure to pay by April 17 will result in forfeiture of any camp slot(s) and a participant from the waiting list will be selected. Payment for remaining sessions is due by June 15.
 
Ages listed are as of September 1, 2009.
