OCTOBER

  • Professor Okee’s Care for Magical Creatures
    Saturday, October 11, 1:00 pm
    Ages 5-10, $3 per child (Reservations Required)
    Are you a wizard or a muggle? Muggles beware! Come to Professor Okee’s class to learn about the magnificent owl, create “Harry Potter” crafts, and have a magical time.

  • Dip-netting Daze
    Saturday, October 18, 10:00 am
    Ages 7 and older*, $3 per person (Reservations Required)
    Explore the shore of our pond with net in hand to capture small fish, shrimp, and other aquatic creatures. We’ll examine our catch with hand lenses and microscopes and learn about their aquatic adaptations.
    *All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear closed-toe-shoes that can get wet.

  • Touch Tank - Extreme Weather & Animals
    Saturday, November 1, 1:00 pm
    Ages 9 and older, $3 per person (Reservations Required)
    What do animals do when storms hit? What can we do to help? These are some of the questions we’ll talk about during our extreme weather and animals presentation. You’ll get an up close look at some of our native marine invertebrates, including sea stars, conchs, and hermit crabs.

    All ages, $3 per person (Reservations Required)
    Let us introduce you to our resident birds of prey! You’ll meet them up-close and develop an appreciation for their role in the environment.

    Saturday, November 22, 9:00 am
    Ages 9 and older, $3 per person (Reservations Required)
    Let’s take a walk through our pine flatwoods forest and identify the birds in the area. You will also get an introduction to proper use of birding equipment and guides.

  • Sunset Safari
    Friday, December 12, 6:30–7:30 pm
    Ages 9 and older, $3 per person (Reservations Required)
    When the sun goes down, some animals in our Pine Forest are just starting to wake up. Come on our evening hike to find out which animals stay up all night long!

  • Holiday Craft
    Saturday, December 20, 11:00 am
    Ages 5-10*, $3 per person (Reservations Required)
    Get green for the holidays. Use recycled materials to make a holiday wreath and do your part for the environment.
    *Parental supervision is required.
